Charice Performs at David Foster Charity Concert

Teenage star Charice Pempengco was one of the many performers who appeared at a charity concert organized by David Foster on Saturday, May 9. The 17-year-old joined Cher, Clay Aiken, Donny Osmond, Brian McKnight and Paul Anka at the David Foster & Friends concert at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas to raise money for the David Foster Foundation, an organization established by the legendary composer and music producer in 1986 to provide financial and emotional help to the families of children needing organ transplants.
During the show, Charice thanked Foster and Oprah Winfrey for their help in her career.
“I would like to mention these people who are very special in my life,“ she said. “First, he is my fan, my producer, my mentor. He taught me a lot of things and of course he is my hero — David Foster. And of course I want to thank Oprah for believing in my dreams and of course believing in me. Thank you so much. I love you both.“
Foster has a long history of charitable efforts to help children. In 1997 he was honored with the United States Children’s Choice Award for his work supporting research into children’s cancer, leukemia, and AIDS.

My son and I recently watched Alvin and the Chipmunks at a theater just near us. When your part of performance was already shown, my son shouted loud "Look Mom your favorite singer Charice!". The people near our seats laughed with glee. It is undeniable now, I am your avid fan. I don't mind at all. After all, your are all worth it! Fun Games

Charice, I flew to Las Vegas from Toronto with my husband just to see you at David Foster & Friends Concert. You gave me goosebumps and I shamelessly screamed after every song you delivered during that concert. LABYO! And more LABYO the next day at Charicemania party for your 17th birthday. I even got lucky to be in the hallway when you were going back to the party room and you pulled me so I could have a picture with you. You have a big heart and I love you even more now. I thank God for the gift of knowing you and pray that he continue to shower His bountiful blessings upon you.
About being thankful
Im glad that Charice is thankful to David Foster and Oprah. I hope that she will not forget Ellen Degeneres, that actually discovered her at U tube & gave her the first exposure on TV. That appearance actually paved the way for her to meet Oprah and David Foster. the . I hope she thank her openly in some of her shows and also do another guesting at Ellen's show. We will surely watch it....Good luck to Charice's & all her projects....God Bless her and her family.....

Although I was not there because I just couldn't get off from my previous appointments, and the fact that I was so many miles away from Las Vegas (I think Luxembourg is just so far away), my thoughts were still with you and the Chasters out there enjoying the concert. I've watched several YT videos of your performances. For me, i'm very much impressed with your rendition of All By Myself... such a WOWER!

I flew from Sacramento to Las Vegas just to see you perform (and to attend the Chasters' celebration of your 17th birthday). I only wish that the entire show had been yours and eagerly await news of your 10-city concert tour. (How about including San Francisco?)
Your performance of Note to God on Oprah was so passionate and heartfelt that it brought tears to my eyes. I bought it from iTunes as soon as it was available and can't stop listening to it.
There are so many fans who love and support you, Charice, and I count myself among them. And, for what it's worth, I'm a non-Filipino, middle-aged, father of two. I wish you health and happiness -- and that all of your dreams continue to come true.
